Drawn-Over-Mandrel (DOM) Tubing

DOM mechanical steel tubing is manufactured from electrical resistance welded hollows and cold drawn through a die and over a mandrel, improving surface finish, mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy of both outside and inside diameters. Because of these characteristics - combined with reliable weld integrity, maximum concentricity, and minimal wall variation - DOM is a high-quality, cost-effective choice for demanding applications and machined parts. Typical applications include hydraulic cylinders, axles, transmission shafts, steering and suspension components, camshafts, drill rod, drill casing, core drills, sampler tubes, roller chain bushings and rollers, pump jacks, track bushings, and motor housings.

High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) DOM tubing can offer significant advantages over carbon and low alloy steels through improved mechanical properties, increased weld ability, and reduced cost of finished parts. With high tensile and yield strengths, excellent ductility, and low-temperature impact toughness, the opportunities for cost savings are substantial. Applications include lateral connecting links, hydraulic cylinders, piston tubes, camshafts, and a variety of components for recreational vehicles and other machinery.
