About Drawn-Over Mandrel
DOM mechanical steel tubing is manufactured from electrical resistance welded hollow tubing – further processed by cold drawing through dies and over mandrels – resulting in improved surface finishing, mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy. These characteristics – combined with reliable weld integrity, maximum concentricity, and minimal wall variation – provide a high-quality, cost-effective choice for demanding applications and machined parts.
About Electrical Resistance Welding
Electrical Resistance Welded (ERW) products can be an ideal choice when strength-to-weight ratio is critical, or when bending, flattening, flaring or other types of fabrication will be required. For many applications including prop and drive-shaft tubing, steering column components, recreational equipment, and valve casings; ERW products offers significant cost savings throughout the fabrication process. Because of its excellent workability, scrap loss is minimal. Due to its uniformity and concentricity, lighter walls can be specified, reducing the allowance for stock removal.
About Cold Drawn Seamless
Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS) tubing is used when heavy wall thicknesses, unweldable grades of steel, or both are required for a specific application. CDS affords superior dimensional tolerances, better surface finish, higher physical properties, and better machinability than Hot Finished Seamless.
About Value-Added Operations
PTC Alliance is a One-Stop-Shop with Value-Added Operations ranging from simple cutting and end finishing to complex robotic welding and forming. These capabilities provide a great advantage to customers who would prefer to keep solutions and services consolidated, ensuring product consistency.
About Plated Products
PTC Alliance offers a full line of plated products including Tubing and Bar, and Tubular and Bar Machined Components at our Enduro Industries facility located in Hannibal Missouri. Our three automated plating lines ensure that each step in the manufacturing process is monitored to yield flawless product performance, long life, and durability.
All of our plated products are available as chrome plated only or induction hardened. We also offer selectively hardened bars to match your machining requirements. Our durable surfaces meet or exceed all industry standards for corrosion resistance, coefficient of friction and wear loss.
We also offer Caserod, an induction-hardened, precision ground shafting typically for non-plated applications that will be subjected to excessively hard wear or for security bar applications.
