PTC Alliance Says Its Plant in Darlington, PA Continues Without Interruption

Pittsburgh, PA – May 16, 2017 – PTC Alliance Corp. said today that customers who do business with its plant in Darlington, Pennsylvania can rest assured that they will continue to receive the same high quality products under normal delivery schedules while the Company seeks to reach a consensual agreement with the union at that plant.

“Our management personnel have stepped up to the plate, and we are continuing to produce the same high-quality products that our customers have come to expect from us,” said Cary Hart, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTC Alliance. “Delivery trucks are entering and leaving freely, and we are continuing to receive raw materials as always.”

Approximately 40 workers represented by the United Steelworkers went on strike on May 12.  Prior to that time the Company had been negotiating in good faith with the union to reach a new agreement.

“PTC Alliance has a long history of working hand-in-hand with the union to provide the employees at the Darlington, Pennsylvania plant with wages and benefits that are among the highest in the industry,” said Eric Crump, Chief Operating Officer. “We are frankly disappointed that after establishing this kind of a relationship that the union would take such a counter-productive position.”

PTC Alliance has salaried, non-union employees working at the Darlington, Pennsylvania facility to ensure products continue to be shipped to customers on a timely basis. The Company’s other plants in Alliance, OH; Fairbury, IL; Richmond, IN; Chicago Heights, IL; Hannibal, MO; and Beaver Falls, PA continue to operate and are unaffected by the strike.

“Our door is currently open – in fact we’ve told the union that anyone is free to return at any time.  We hope we can reach an agreement that is mutually beneficial and secures the long-term viability of the plant,” said Mr. Crump.
