PTC Alliance Thanks Its Employees and Customers for Support

Alliance, OH – August 25, 2017 – PTC Alliance Corp. said today that it is scaling up production at its Alliance, Ohio facility.

“I’d like to thank the leadership team, the salaried employees of the Alliance plant and the workers from our other operations who have come together to make it possible for us to continue to support our customers,” said Cary Hart, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTC Alliance. “After less than a week of operating, production is stabilized and in fact we are ramping up our output.  Each day the number of loaded trucks leaving the plant increases.”

Brian Drennan, Vice President of Operations, said, “We’d also like to thank our customers for their support during this difficult period.  All of our efforts are directed to satisfying their needs.  We now expect that we’ll be increasing the number of temporary workers and that these additional people, along with our present workers, will enable us to increase our production capacity.”

Regarding the strike, Mr. Hart said, “The central issue, as with most companies, is medical benefits and how to balance the desire to support our workers with our need to operate a competitive business.  We’ve been successful in achieving this with our salaried and non-union employees and with the union employees at our other plants, including two of whom are USW-represented.  We are confident that we can reach a similar resolution with the Alliance union employees in the near future.”

Approximately 220 workers represented by the United Steelworkers went on strike on August 18.  Prior to that time the Company had been negotiating in good faith with the Union to reach a new agreement.

PTC Alliance has other plants in Fairbury, IL; Richmond, IN; Chicago Heights, IL; Hannibal, MO; Darlington, PA; and Beaver Falls, PA that continue to operate and are unaffected by the strike.
